McLean, VA (Sept. 30, 2025) - The International Public Safety Data Institute (IPSDI), a nonprofit data science and research organization, has been awarded a cooperative purchasing contract through Sourcewell to improve access to its fire service Analytics platform for public agencies nationwide.
The competitively awarded agreement, Contract #030425-IPSDI, enables fire and EMS departments, government agencies, and nonprofits to access IPSDI’s suite of analytics tools without requiring lengthy procurement processes. This streamlined pathway saves time, promotes transparency, and allows agencies to engage a vetted provider with proven experience in performance measurement, resource deployment, and risk reduction.
The IPSDI Analytics platform (formerly known as NFORS Analytics) helps agencies understand and optimize their service delivery using data. The platform ingests incident data from computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and records management systems (RMS), regardless of vendor, and combines it into a unified environment with visual dashboards and geospatial mapping tools. The system can also incorporate external datasets, such as parcel information and the US Census Social Vulnerability Index (SVI), to provide a deeper operational context.
In addition to self-service dashboards and near real-time analytics, users receive automated reporting with daily, weekly, and monthly summaries of call volume and activity. After onboarding, departments continue to receive access through a subscription that includes ongoing technical support, data science assistance, training, and dashboard customization.
“This contract reinforces our mission to help public safety agencies make smart, data-informed decisions,” said John Oates, President and CEO of IPSDI. “By partnering with Sourcewell, we are making it easier for departments across the country to access the tools, insights, and analytics support they need to protect their communities and personnel. This contract vehicle saves time, promotes transparency, and still delivers the competitive value agencies expect and deserve.”
IPSDI was awarded the contract following a rigorous evaluation process, ensuring its services meet high standards for value, compliance, and operational excellence. The contract is available to more than 50,000 participating Sourcewell members across the nation.
